Welcome to Room 13's wiki Welcome Whaea Kimi Welcome to Room 13 Miss Kimi. We all wish the best for our class this year and you will for sure make this happen.
We all love how you are strict, but still make learning fun! You have made a great impression on Room 13 all ready, image our class a few months done the track.
Sadly Room 13 lost Miss Smyth as a teacher and we all will miss her dearly. Luckily our school has still keep Miss Smyth on, as she is a lovely young lady and full of life. Her talent has left us stunned and we will never forget the fun she taught us. Golden Time was always a wonderful treat at least once a week. Zink was also a bright highlight for us students and not to mention for our class bankers! Also with the Zink, there was a “ Zink Market Day” created as an opportunity to experience the big wide world of money, but in our version it was Zink. Thanks to Miss Smyth for creating this for us.
Room 13 has had a great reliever experience will Miss Kimi. As a class we all learnt Sign Language while Miss Kimi was in here for a week. That week also happened to be New Zealand Sign Language Week nationwide.
Miss Kimi knows a lot about other cultures and has shared with us her great knowledge of the world. Further Miss Kimi knows bucket fills of different languages.
Thanks so much to Miss Smyth for building up Room 13 and thanks to Miss Kimi who is going to continue our class. A reminder to all students this is a school based activity, this is not a social networking site. Please make sure all activities on these pages are relevant to what we are doing in the classroom.Including having appropriate spelling, punctuation and grammar, e.g. I'm not im.Always remember no last names.
New website for further learning
These pages will be updated regularly with lots of work from Room 13 students, photos and information. Keep coming back regularly to see our updates. Everyone in the class will has a password and username to be able to use the wiki, this is for security reasons. If your parents would like to become members or be updated when your page changes just let me know, via email k_smyth@pukekoheint.school.nz and I can make them a member too. It is important that we only use first names on here and no text language please.
Some important information for school: 1. Uniform - please make sure that ALL uniform items are clearly named as there are 600 students all wearing the same thing and it's very easy to misplace items.
You need your PE gear at school every day. If for some reason you can't bring your correct uniform then please bring some other clothes (mufti PE kit is not to be worn in class without reason). You must have your PE uniform for team sport and if you are involved in zone sports.
2. Absences - if you are absent, an adult needs to ring the office (238 6568) to let us know that you will be away. If you are late for school you need to go straight to the student centre and sign in. The sign in book also needs to be signed if you are leaving early or for an appointment. 3. Fitness/PE - we will be doing some form of fitness most days. If you are unable to take part because you are unwell or have an injury, you need to bring a note from home. No note means you will be doing fitness. Feel free to email me on k_smyth@pukekoheint.school.nz if that is easier.
4. Books/equipment - please clearly name all your books and equipment. Most students buy the stationery pack so everyone's stuff looks the same. If you run out or lose an item you need to replace it quickly. You should always have a blue pen, red pen, pencil, ruler and eraser in your desk. Also please bring in your dictionary from last year, or you will need to purchase a new one to replace it ($15 from the student centre).
